New Wikileaks release....

The last of the 70,000 to 90,000 (sources vary on this) of the original Wikileaks release of 'Classified' Pentagon info has been studied by the Pentagon. The total number of Classified documents that was really released?

According to the Pentagon the number was zero. There was not one single item that had not been made public before. All of the 'leaks' could have been obtained from reading Pentagon press releases.

So I wonder what the big deal was? Was Wikileaks just looking for donations so they could 'keep up the good work'? They were bound to know the truth of the matter would someday come out.

Maybe they were conned into thinking they were doing something that mattered. Maybe they think this new batch of information will be the real thing.

Could it all just be one big practical joke on the media?

Define 'America'. Define "Haters".

I never provide sources for anything I post. If you are really interested you can easily find them by yourself.

My reason for this is that usually someone will come back and say that my source is just some left-wing site with no credibility and then act as if that is the last word on the matter.

I understand the truth is hard for many people to take. The biggest part of my career in the oil biz was laying out the facts to people that wished they were not hearing the truth of a matter. I was the guy everybody hated to see come around after a mechanical incident since the facts were all there. They just had to be put back together.

Anyway.... I am still wondering why this Wikileaks things was even created when the truth was bound to come out sooner or later. What purpose could they have for doing this?

Were they just conned on this?

And furthermore...

When this first took place it was suggested to me by an old 'Dirty trickster' that this was nothing more than an attempt to discredit Obama by some Republican operatives. I spoke to the same person today about this and he still thinks this. I think this is just one more theory that can never be proven.

One thing that does seem true in all of this is that the Pentagon's system for storing Classified info works. The fellow that took this info claims it was really top level stuff and maybe he thought it was. Apparently all he got his hands on was information that anybody could have accessed if they had wanted to, and this answers the question of how did someone with so little time and grade get access to such info.

But I think in the case of the leaker it all comes down to intent. If he intended to release Classified info and thought that he did it seems to me he has still committed a crime.

This would not surprise me.

This is quite believable too.

This reminds me of the little story in a story from the movie "A few good men" where the Tom Cruise character is negotiating a plea bargain while hitting soft balls. It seems a low level army guy bought some oregano from an undercover cop and was arrested for buying pot. The Cruise characters closing line in the negotiation was "Do you really think the judge will send him up for "Possession of a condiment?"
