I drove a Ferrari f430 yesterday

It was a 2005. I am kinda at a loss of words. Amazing doesn't quite cut it. It kind of made me a little sad afterwords because I realized that I may never drive a legit "super car" ever again.

When I say it is fast, Its kinda hard to portray that in text form. 0-60 is quicker than your mind can really react, and I got it up to 130mph by the time I got to the end of the on ramp.

Here a a few pics:

Closest thing I have driven to a 'super car is a Porsche Cayman. Sweet car but not even close to the F430. Perhaps one of these days I will be as lucky.

That was it??!!??!! He hit the pedal a couple of times? Wasn't he allowed to put it in gear?

Maybe not...it was raining and from what I've seen of "ams" behind the wheel of anything more pronounced than a '75 Pinto...not a pretty sight...for the observer or the insurance company!!!!

I drove a Maserati with pretty much the same drive train as the Ferrari you drove and I actually drove an old Ferrari the day before. I still like my 300SDL most of all.

I suppose the fastest car I ever drove was the 68 (or was it 69?) corvette with 427 and three two barrels.

Fastest car I ever rode in was a Viper, which got up to 165 on a local 4 lane stretch of road which had about a mile between cross roads.....we got up to that and backed right down....really did not feel like anything at all.

Fastest I have driven is about 125.....in a 64 bonneville, in a 59 Ferrari, and in a Chrysler thingie (the full sized front drive car which preceded the rear drive 300).

I think my 84 280e would go about 130 but never tried topping it out.

One of my favorite Ferraris. I've not even ridden in one, sad to say. A couple of Porsches but that's about it.

Nice, but I've had my 300E to 134mph. Lets see some real speed! And I've done 155mph on the autobahn in a diesel mb! How many here have done that?

Scrwed chrysler? Ha! They came in and got rid of top managment folks paying themselves millions, pumped money into the company and sold it off for a huge loss when things did not turn around.

For myself I was dissapointed that benz did not help chrysler create more rational more economical cars. I bought an 05 magnum new and was shocked when I realized how huge it was. I still like the looks of them though and if offered with a benz diesel would still have one probably.

I cannot figure how Benz screwed chrysler though, probably kept them in business when they may not have survived as long....

I've never driven a Ferrari, it had to be a blast. The two fastest cars I've driven have been an '09 SL 600 and a '10 CL63AMG. Neither of which I own

It's really really fun to go fast in a modern techno-supercar (see my locked post SL600 "Lets go fast" ) but for me if I'm ever fortunate enough to be in the position to buy a supercar I'd rather spend that money on a vintage superbenz that I could actually work on. Am I alone in this?

Probably same here, I drove a '69 427/435 that had a ZL1 cam, 13:1, bigger valves and ports, long tubes, etc. IIRC it dyno'ed at 609rwhp. or was it 690?

I also drove a Formula SAE car, so like 100hp and 400lbs. 0-60 south of 3 seconds, but those cars top out around 80.

We had a F430 at work but I chose to not drive it, I don't like the guy who owns it and hes been known to complain just to be a pain in the ass.

Headsmack on the Mercedes Screwing Chrysler, ashedd please correct him.
