Maybe I'll stick with my diesel for now.

At least with the diesel you still have the "judge this jalopy cannot go more than 66mph" defense.

If they're in a Hummer, they might as well plan on it--drivers of the Hummer H2 face more than triple the chances of a citation.

hahahahahaha

On the SL front...I'd imagine that you would be fine in an older model.

Does anyone think that the reason for the higher number of SL tickets has to do with the fact that the cop will give them a ticket because they "can afford to pay it"

But its still worth having an SL. The key is not getting caught.

Maybe a camo- painted stealth SL... Kinda defeats the purpose...

I find in most MB's its easy to get a ticket. Most are built to run and like to run a lot faster than US speed limits allow. My SDL had two sweet spots, one at 80 and the other at 105. My friends S600 has a very comfortable spot at about 120 which is a totally effortless speed, also thanks to MB's sound insulation it feels like 70 in a regular car.

I know for damn sure when I'm driving a MB on the highway I'm not doing 55 in the right.

Hey, I thought the law was supposed to treat all men equally......the law is not a respecter of persons, correct? this information seems to contradict the idea that 'all men are equal in the eyes of the law'.

Part of the reason the public reacts so strongly against them, precision and equality.

Since most people that drive a luxury brand like Mercedes, want to appear rich, it's really their own fault being ticketed for driving one.

Maybe those cars getting ticketed more often are actually speeding more often.

I had a Porsche Turbo and drove it at insane speeds but only got a couple of tickets and they were just cruising slightly over the 55 limit at the time. My biggest ticket was hauling ass down the highway in my 6.9.
