'57 BMW Isetta

they usually have some screaming deals here on cars but this one caught me off guard. a 1957 BMW Isetta.

if there's serious interest in the vehicle I can go look at it. but I thought I'd post it more for wits and giggles

I remember those from when I was a kid in England. We called them bubble cars.

That is tempting; I don't have the time or space for another toy.

That's a very reasonable price, have seen them go for double that amount.

That's why it's tempting. My next purchase will be a 4matic for my daughter, then getting my 300D painted, then some restoration work on my bike, then getting my 914 put back together, etc.

That BMW is cool, I wonder how many 30 packs would fit into that little car.

They had one on Top Gear at one time to show that they had no reverse gear.

James drove it up to a wall like he was pulling into his garage and then he found that he could not open the door or back up.

A guy in Tulsa had one of ultra rare 'Limo' versions which had a back seat and a proper rear door on the right side so you could get in and out. It also had a full length folding sunroof.

During the late 50's a Caddy dealer in Fort Worth gave these away if you bought a top of the line Caddy. It was your 'spare'.
