Against ALL Odds.
Hey guys,
This past weekend, I visited my cousin whom is a freshman at Penn State. We had a lot planned out and I guess I'll just run through how this debacle ended with me probably needing stitches across the bridge of my nose again. First night we went to the fraternity he's pledging at (ATO if anyone knows it) for halloween, and he had to be the Indian from the village people, and a few of his friends were the other members, and were to do a rendition of the YMCA choreography on stage. I legitimately started to believe I was watching the actual village people in their prime, because it was so on cue and perfectly recreated. I went as the T-1000 from Terminator 2 (Liquid metal dude) and 3 girls knew who I was. I expected zero as soon as I walked in; didn't expect to meet my future wife ![]() And for future reference, if any of you ever intend on wearing body paint under clothing, don't. Especially silver on black. Not only is it the most uncomfortable experience I have ever had, by the end of the night it seeped through the shirt and made me glitter in any form of light, making me look like the policeman from the village people, ironically. I don't know if anyone follows college football, but we went to the PSU v. Michigan State and delivered a surprising upset, and I had to maneuver through multiple riots to get back. We survived unscathed somehow, considering I was wearing a Colgate University shirt (thought it was a good idea at the time), we make it back and eat at this place called Are U Hungry?. They list the items under each name, but to my surprise, it all comes on a sandwich. It was pretty manly, and not even bad, so I hope it becomes a chain to more areas than just State College, PA. We go golfing on Sunday at the college's golf cart, and I am not only the least enthusiastic about golf, but I am pretty much terrible. I make it a joke every time I play. On the fifth hole, there is a downhill stretch of path where I parked our golf cart. I was going to grab my putter (Excalibur) and I hear this light whirring noise. I turn around, and BAM, I was on the windscreen and roof of a golf cart coasting in neutral. He didn't stop, and I take off my sunglasses to see they are unscathed, but covered in blood. My cousin comes over and tells me it isnt that bad, so I wipe it off and continue playing. We get back to the clubhouse, and I go into the bathroom, and wipe it off, taking off a cm or so of thick flesh from my nose. There was a gaping hole that I could look into whenever I raised my eyebrows, and blood was getting everywhere. the bridge of my sunglasses was holding it closed (The nosebomb is pretty weird). He just mutters mutiny (inside joke) and walks out, while I try and stop the bleeding. I don't know what I was supposed to learn from this whole experience, but I definitely never thought I would be in a golf cart hit and run, let alone need more stitches due to playing golf on a deserted course (it was freezing). But I do know I can attend more major football games without being hurt, right? ![]() (pic is of after I cleaned it up yesterday morning; title is an homage to Phil Collins' single)
