Printer Question

I can't keep the printer from printing Last Page First. I have been through all of the manuals and every time i remove the check from Print last page first,it always comes back.I am sure i am missing a setting some where.

When you hit the print icon, or ctrl (P), a box pops up where you set the number of copies.

The option should be there.

If it's set to "auto collate" then it'll usually automatically start at the end.

It is there and it is un-checked.

It is not set to "auto collate".

If I remember correctly (I don't use Windows anymore) if you go to the control panel and click on add printers (or add / remove printers or printers and faxes) option you can access the printer driver for the machine that you have the problem with. I bet you'll find that the printer driver has an option for what you want.

So a tick won't go away? (Old sheep joke)

Is your printer by any chance controlled by other software on your PC? Look in add/remove programs for software that looks like it belongs to your printer manufacturer - for example if you have a HP printer there could be something like HP XXXX - other makes could be EPSON XXX - or Canon XXXX - do you see what I mean?

If your list of programs in your START menu is up to date you might also find it there. Failing that when you print there may be an icon that turns up in your system tray (next to the clock) that might be clickable for other options...

If all else fails remove and reinstall your printer from add / remove printers via the control panel.

Would probably help if you state the printer make and model and the OS.

There are no other printers installed.
The printer[Kodak ESP 5250 on Vista 64bit OS] is located on the Start menu> Computer and Remove and uninstall. The Tech. on the Live Chat removed everything related to the printer, the we reinstalled it. No luck.

Do all printers have this feature? It seems like when i remove the check in the box and close the window, something is causing it to return.

We use HP 1020, HP 1022, Samsung 2510 and Samsung 2525 printers at work

The HP printers do not give me the option to reverse pages. The Samsung printers do.

On the HP printers though, I downloaded their basic no frills driver off of their website. The "full feature" driver off of their CD was anoying. I do not need or want a big "printing status" bar accross the screen to tell me that my printer is printing. I do not want an automated toner order to go out when my toner is getting low.

You could see if there is a basic, no frills driver for your printer.

To the best of my knowledge as printers do not have much memory, the order in which pages are printed is controlled by the computer - driver.

Try updating the driver:-

Go to the Kodak website => find driver downloads for your operating system
Save driver to your hard drive
Up date driver via control panel (sorry that is where it gets vague for me as I'm not familiar with Vista - can someone else help?)
