Sandford FL - Buy a truck get a Free AK-47

Just a sales gimic but of course the AK-47 gets into a lot of peoples crawl.

The Story:
http://www.clickorlando.com/news/25767498/detail.html

Nations Trucks, located at 3700 S. Orlando Drive in Sanford, kicked off the promotion on Veterans Day.

General sales manager Nick Ginetta said the promotion will run until the end of the month. He said anyone who purchases a truck will receive a $400 voucher to a local gun store. He said customers will have to go through the application process and qualify under state and federal laws...........(link for full story)

Ginetta said he also believes it's a perfect Veterans Day promotion.

That is wrong that they specifically mention the AK-47 in the promo (Seeing as how it's traditionally "The gun of "Americas enemies.")

From what the article says the voucher is good for any weapon at a local gun store. The idea from a marketing perspective is actually really sound as it will capture peoples attention. Ethically though there are some questions....

ethics? you must have watched too many Michael Moore movies. Firearms are legal items for qualifying adults.

Does seem a bit odd to be promoting an AK on veterans day, but then the vouchers only for 400 bucks and you won't pick up an AR fo that amount.

No no i'm fine with the promotion it's specifically the use of the AK-47 that some might find offensive because of veterans day.

FYI i've never seen a single Michael Moore film

when I was in the Army, we trained with all available enemy weapons. Guns are just tools and when you need one in a fight, it doesn't matter where it was manufactured. AKs are lots of fun to shoot, and are bone a$$ reliable.

I would be willing to bet that the person who dreamed this one up is not a Vet. This is the USA so there's nothing wrong with offering a gun as a promotion. The decision to specifically promote it as an AK was DEFINITELY not the idea of a Vet.

If he's ever heard one, it most assuredly wasn't on a battlefield.

His promotion worked - the whole country knows who he is now.

maybe he's not Larry, but i know lots of vets (inc myslef) who like and own some sort of AK. Fine guns for what they are intended. And yes, I have heard them fired in anger and actually vice versa. A gun is just a tool.
