another computer question

Every time i Rt. Clk. on a page then chose Send Link: A window pops up to send to: Email Address. Ccick Send and i always get this message.Error: Host could not be found.Socket error11001. Error # 0x800cccod.

Highlight and copy the URL in the top bar of the browser. Manually open a new e-mail, paste link into message body. I'm assuming you are using a web based email host? Chances are, it's trying to open Outlook, and it's either missing, or not setup.

Yes, download the gmail notifier from google labs and when you install it, pick gmail as you default email server. It will take care of the rest.

well i downloaded the gmail notifier and it does not ask to pick gmail as my default server. I must be in the wrong place. A link would help.I also can't terminate my old yahoo address.

Sorry I didn't reach this one sooner. If you are still using firefox go to Edit drop down menu - click on preferences at the bottom - find the applications tab - and about half way down you'll see a mail to option. There you'll find another drop down menu with options.

Sorry but there are no Preferences [options] at the bottom of the drop down menu.

Right click on the gmail notifier icon on the lower right of your screen. Left click on options and make sure "use gmail for internet maito links is checked. Click ok and you're set.

You have to install it after you download it.

HmMMMM I am running Linux so perhaps that version is different. Can you find the preferences from another drop down menu?

I'm in the office on Friday where they insist on using Windows - so I'll check then for you if you don't get it sorted by then.

As for installing after down loading something - the preferences menu (that we can't find!) also states where things are getting downloaded - unless of course you're back trying to install an add-on again.
