wow. what compassion from a man who quotes the "good book". i'm sure that jesus would agree with you.

TOO LATE.

jesus is dead. He was the black guy on the BART train platform in Berkeley who was shot to death last New Year while handcuffed by the BART cop Johannes Mesherle who said he only meant to tase him but murdered him by mistake.

i had a first in dealing with a beggar this past thursday

walked out of the restaurant's door with a doggy bag, and was approached by a white guy in his late 20's to early 30's in presentable casual attire, and asked me for my food saying he hadn't eaten for a couple of days

in leaving i see he had gone down to the bus stop bench and treating himself to 3 chicken tenders and a fresh honey mustard dip

these are the one's you'd like to help a little more

I almost always give a buck if they have the drive to walk up. Its just a dollar and even if one in five really needs it then I helped. the scammers aren't getting rich on my dollar and I rarely see the same guy twice which I think would signal scam

I know, maybe we should all quit our jobs and go begging

I just remembered that I did have a beggar encounter a few weeks ago. I was crossing a very busy intersection on the cross walk and he tried to stop me right in the middle for "A few dollars for Burgar King"

1. Don't ask me for money in the middle of the street (Especially at rush hour)
2. Don't ask me JUST as i'm getting out of work.
3. If you do get some money, use it to buy some real food.

I like St. John of Las Vegas , he drives a 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis. What impeccable good taste.

If you'd stop giving able-bodied people welfare money, they might have to GET OFF THE STREEETS, AND GET A JOB!

It occurs to me that the posters here who are so put off by the homeless are the same ones who wouldn't have taxpayers paying to help them, believing that "society" will take care of it. Apparently not any society they belong to.
The rationalization that all beggars are either scammers making plenty of money or mentally ill people who should be locked up is unbelievably lame.

"At this festive season of the year, Mr. Scrooge," said the gentleman, taking up a pen, "it is more than usually desirable that we should make some slight provision for the Poor and Destitute, who suffer greatly at the present time. Many thousands are in want of common necessaries; hundreds of thousands are in want of common comforts, sir."

"Are there no prisons?" asked Scrooge.

"Plenty of prisons," said the gentleman, laying down the pen again.

"And the Union workhouses?" demanded Scrooge. "Are they still in operation?"

"They are. Still," returned the gentleman, "I wish I could say they were not."

"The Treadmill and the Poor Law are in full vigour, then?" said Scrooge.

"Both very busy, sir."

"Oh! I was afraid, from what you said at first, that something had occurred to stop them in their useful course," said Scrooge. "I'm very glad to hear it."

"Under the impression that they scarcely furnish Christian cheer of mind or body to the multitude," returned the gentleman, "a few of us are endeavouring to raise a fund to buy the Poor some meat and drink and means of warmth. We choose this time, because it is a time, of all others, when Want is keenly felt, and Abundance rejoices. What shall I put you down for?"

"Nothing!" Scrooge replied.

"You wish to be anonymous?"

"I wish to be left alone," said Scrooge.

Happy F**king Thanksgiving.

Some people aren't bright enough to figure out that the ones begging DO NOT NEED MONEY AND ARE THE SCAMMERS......

(If they actually needed help - they would have a job........)

You could even upgrade to a new E320 Bluetec, within one month of the tax free money!

Why work? BEG!
