anybody else tinkering with solar power?
I've got a small setup about 110watts. plenty to maintain car batteries, but insufficient for serious usage. I can keep lights on, I can run small appliances, and my furnace. a/c is out of the question, but still being on the grid, I can tap it for the big users... a dozen or so deep cycle batteries, and several group 49ers connected to the inverter give me plenty of usage for short times, but I WANT MORE!!!
above 500 watts, permits and severe shutoffs and such are required. heavy wattage DC current is dangerous. I'm not there yet.
