In any web browser just cut and paste the Utube URL into your post

For example

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqMEGA76HsE

Does that help?

In other threads it actually embeds the video into the post. The link is just fine and probably the easiest

What? Madness!

Does it by any chance work when you highlight text and use CTRL and "C" and then move to where you want to paste and use CTRL and "V"?

(Press ctrl key and the "c" at the same time - much like you use the shift key)

I guess when something is greyed out it hasn't done the copy and so there is nothing to paste - which is why it isn't working.

Try the hey board method I proposed above instead of using the drop down menu and see what happens. You could even try to copy something and place it in a text file (notepad for example).

The operating system should be taking care of this and allowing you to transfer the clip board between applications.

If your clip board is always empty then something is going wrong with the copy.

You are selecting text aren't you and not an image?

Yeah but you're just trying to copy and paste the URL aren't you? That is text...

If you are trying to select a video on Utube, trying to copy it and then pasting it - it doesn't work like that...

May be I need a bit more information to help. What exactly are you trying to do? Do you know how to make screen shots?

OK: I just highlited the address on this page and copied it. I can paste it into a gmail but not onto my desktop. I guess paste only works in some places and not in others.

CTRL-C CTRL-V works on every version of Windows unless it has been disabled in a program you are running. CTRL-INS and SHIFT-INS are the old way, most people forgot about those.

After reading through the posts on the other forum I would run some sort of malware software - such as spybot (I'm not sure if this is still a good one - I've been away from Windows for so long) - and see if that works. Even though the other forum moderator says it may not be that.
