Looking for a decent LED pre-lit Christmas Tree.
Guys, I want to buy and set up a 7' or 6.5', pre-lit Christmas tree while the GF is out of town to surprise her when she gets home.
Any suggestions for local purchase? K-mart? Wal-Mart? Thanks!

Well, I'm sure that they both have a fine variety of Chinese plastic trees to choose from (Pssst...real tree...fraser fir!...).
You might also try garden supply stores for both real and synthetic trees. Last edited by PaulC; 12-06-2010 at 10:12 PM. |

we bought a 7 foot white prelit last year becasue we were both too busy to go through the whole setup hassle. It comes apart in 3 peices as looks nice with a few ornaments on it. We liked it enough were using it again this year. I dont know if it is LED.I didnt buy green because it looks like I was trying to fake a real tree, the white is what it is and looks very nice. I beleive I paid $34 at Wal-Mart and also got like 25 4" ornaments for $5

Cummon man go buy a real tree. You gotta have the smell, the ritual of decorating the tree, the hot chocolate, fireplace if you have one. Especially if there's just the two of you and you can do anything in front of the tree. Don't worry Santa's not real. You can be naughty. He's not watching.

Fraser firs are great Christmas trees, as they possess nice soft needles that won't stab you to death everytime that you try to hang an ornament.

I prefer the fake ones. They are getting to the point where it is difficult to tell the difference at 10'. Clean up is easy. Fire risk is lower if not non-existent. No trees are cut down and then disposed of. And it's a heck of a lot cheaper in the long run. Buy one tree and use it for years ... decades...

You could be like me and wait until the day after Christmas and buy one of those $300 trees for $50.
