Why do people cover their license plates in photos?
I have never been able to figure this out....

People think that others will be able to track down their car and steal / harm it.

Or falsely report it to the police in connection with a crime ("saw a gray mercedes with license plate XXX")...there are lots of scary/crazy people out there. I have heard of this happening so I always cover up the plate.
