When you look at all the things we could die of..

terrorism doesn't rank very high on the list. But it is by far the most expensive.

And with all the $$$$ we've spent, the TSA still misses things like guns and knives.

I just read an article somewhere that more air marshalls get arrested than the people air marshalls arrest.

But you can't say it's not working. Haven't had a plane hijacked since 9/11.

During Clinton's term we had no TSA, or Homeland Security, or Patriot Act and yet we had no terrorist attacks. Billions and billions spent on security and still people are getting on planes with bomb laden shoes and underwear.

No lie. A friend came to FL to do some work for the place I am employed by and he had to bring a certain costume. He had the big pieces packed in a trunk and put under the plane but the rest was carry on. They had to x-ray it because of the wires and what not and his laptop bag as well.

Apparently TSA missed the box cutter, two screw drivers, and pliers.

There was just a story on the evening news of a man that carried a 9mm in on board a plane in a laptop case. The agent didn't see it. They showed the video of the scan and the gun was plain as day.

All thanks to Bernard Lewis-Bush-Cheney, and the C.I.A-who have always been quick to grab the significance of ,and capitalise on the economic costs of asymmetric warfare. www.Fahim/Knight/blogs.

Did they show a video of the actual scan that was made of that gun? Or was it some, "it would have looked something like this" video?

I'm not excusing a failure to identify a weapon. I'm just trying to evaluate the quality of the "journalism".

If the TSA is such a waste of money, and I agree that it is, then why does the Obama administration not defund it?
Pelosi and Reid surely could have paid for some of their deficit spending with the savings, and gotten good fiscal press, too.

That's a very good question, and I suspect the answer is politics. The democrats are usually reluctant to do anything that makes them appear too "soft" on security.

The same can be said of Truman's Presidency
