S124 brabus styling

If you google "124 brabus", you'll find all kind of stuff.

I've bought an original brabus front bumper for my car, and wonder how the rear is supposed to look.

Anyone have any pictures of it?

In the U.S. you could have one of two diesel models in 1992:

124.128 (a W124 chassis) 692.962 5cyl Turbo-Diesel engine. (4Dr Sedan)
[In the U.S. this combo was designated a 300D,
Everywhere else on Planet Earth it's called a 250D]
or
140.134 (a W140 chassis) 603.971 6cyl Turbo-Diesel engine. (4Dr Sedan)

Historically,Mercedes Benz of North America has designated the Largest
chassis available by the "S" nomenclature.

So the American Cousins begin frantically searching their catalogs when
something is called a S124
(It makes no sense to us the Two ["S" and "124"] are mutually exclusive.)

I know MB does some Hinky things with model designations.
Example: They're now producing a 2 door coupe CLAIMING it's an "E"-Class,
when in actual fact it's built on the SMALLER "C" class Monoque setup.

Coffee suppliers try the same foolishness when they CUT a Pound (16 Ounces) of coffee to 13 ounces and still charge the same price.

Hello.
The video show an E500 with brabus engine. Styling is the original 500, not brabus.

It exist. For some reason, the 300 TD Turbo was only sold my MBUSA in 1987, but in the rest of the world, it was sold from 1987 to 124 estate was discontinued in the middle of 1996. Mine is a model year 1992, that left the factory in Bremen october 25th 1991.

Again correct. TD Turbo means station wagon diesel turbo. Non-turbo would just be TD, and the sedan with turbo would be 300 D Turbo (short 300DT). Sedan with NA diesel would be the 300D".

In what way does that involve my question about pictures of a S124 with brabus styling? They were sold every year in the USA, just not with the turbo diesel engine.

No, the 250D is NA 2,5. The 2,5 with Turbo is a "250D Turbo" andywhere else than in the USA.

Why doesn't it make sense to use the right name?

124 is the build number. W is the Sedan/Saloon, S is the Station wagon, C is the 2-door coupé, A is the 2-door cabriolet, and V is the 6-door long version.

W124
S124
C124
A124
V124.

The same way, the s-class can be W140 in normal version and V140 in long version.

The SL, introduced in 1989 is an R129, where R means Roadster.

The confusion is complete when it comes to the C-class sport coupé, that one is accually an CL203, but does obviously have nothing to do with the larger "CL" (C215 i think)

This codes have nothing to do with the name on the trunk or used in the sales brochures.





Does anyone have pictures of an S124 (124 station wagon) with brabus styling? I've already bought the front bumper and side skirts for my car, but have problems finding the rear bumper. If I find pictures of it, maybe I can rebuild the original one to look like the brabus version.

It was obvious to me and it doesn't matter for the thread but there are still a couple posts that seem to leave it out.

But alas we still had to figure out how you had a euro car.

S is not the common US term for wagons. We use T-124.

However if you read this,

It DOES reference the Wagon 300TE as the S124. If you google S124 you get pictures of wagons. Google T124 and you get nothing.

In terms of chassis designation my belief is "S" is the correct designation on a wagon. However in terms of bootlid badging, the T is the letter used for wagons.

300TE, 300TD, 250TD etc.

In America people are awfully proud of the turbo on their cars so they like to kick the "T" into the name of their car even though the T doesn't correspond to the chassis, or the model name.
