Is it just me?
Or did this place get completely crossthreaded in a matter of 2-3 weeks? I say drill it out for a Helicoil, tap, insert and move on. Jeez.

Seems to me that one nut got deliberately crossthreaded and had to be discarded. Then, in a brash act, someone decided to rid the shop of the device used to keep the nuts from getting crossthreaded.
