Money for Nothing

We have a small apartment on the back of our printshop and a guy here in town pays us $$$$ for the option to rent it. So basically we are getting mony for nothing.

Hey tell me about it - although I discovered disaster date a few months back and I nearly wet myself (but enough of that).

Until you have to do any work on it! I rented an apartment above a pizza place, tailor and general crap store for 2 years. During that time, the pizza place was broken into twice without making a sound to wake any of us up. Every year the landlord had to dump money into the place because he refused to pay to ever do any job right the first time. Think frat house, then think band geeks....yeaaahhhhhh....

The cool thing here is that the guy never intends to live in my apartment. He is just paying me to not rent it to anyone else.

I once paid my "roommate" rent for two years so I could maintain my tax home in NH (no state income tax) while I worked elsewhere. Sometimes it makes sense.
