Do you think the stop lights weren't working?
Either that or the reaction times for these Russians are really bad.

Ben they are bad drivers by birth. Been to Russia few times. Lived in Moscow for almost 2 years in the late 1990's. It is common knowledge that the Italian drivers are mad This comment was made by someone that NEVER been to Russia Italians are like small puppies Probably 80% of the drivers in Russia are drunk or with alcohol level way above any limit. Russia law is 0%...but no one care.

It makes Gray Goose taste like French piss water in comparison!
A little tricky to find around here but not to hard.

Looks like most of them were caused by people trying to beat red lights....perhaps while drunk

Best Russian Vodka.
Quote:
I'd have to agree, based on this: Last year I dated a woman from Tatarstan, that lived in San Francisco, where I used to reside and was born in, and she took me to a couple of Russian stores that she likes to shop in. I never would have found them. I asked her which was the best Russian Vodka. She went straight for the "Standard", and said "This". It was a huge bottle, straight from Leningrad. Cost me $20 for a beautiful opaque gloss one liter bottle. 80 proof/export brand. I should open it on my birthday. "Recognized in its homeland as a benchmark for excellence, Russian Standard Original owes its name and quality to Dmitri Mendeleev's classic formula, commissioned by Tsar Alexander III for optimum balance and purity. Its combination of traditional wheat taste—from the hardy winter wheat of the Russian steppes—and remarkable clarity—from the soft glacial waters of the frozen north—make Russian Standard Original a perfect vodka to sip neat or as your preferred spirit for a long drink. Russian Standard has come to epitomize vodka in the spirit's motherland, and in the process become an iconic symbol of modern Russian life and dynamism."

I was talking to the gf last night about this thread and she smiled when I mentioned Medeleev as the one who created the Table of Elements. She suggested I take that with a grain of salt. Leningrad? Is that on the bottle? Is there a bottling date (?) on it? On June 12, 1991, in a referendum held on the same day as the first Russian presidential election, 54% of voters chose to restore the name "Saint Petersburg" (the change officially took effect on September 6, 1991). Many other Soviet-era toponyms in the city were also renamed soon afterwards. In the same election Anatoly Sobchak became the first democratically elected mayor of the city.[31] By the end of 1991 the deteriorating planned economy of the collapsing Soviet Union had put the city on the verge of starvation. For the first time since World War II food rationing was introduced, and the city received humanitarian food aid from abroad. The city somewhat recovered with the market reforms in Russia. In 1995-2004 a northern section of the Metro's Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya Line was cut off by underground flooding, which was a major obstacle to the city development...... 1991, not coincidentially, is the year she left for the US. |

Yeah, them Cyrillic keyboards can be a real B)%$@!
You guys are missing the obvious. Russia IS "The land of the Reds" (Rus means red). The guys are cruising along, the light turns red, they are filled with patriotic fervor and it's "Go, comrade, Go!" |
