Picked Up a Winter Beater Yesterday

It will probably make me poor, but it will be fun to play with.

It's a Silver Spur II. In good condition, anywhere from $20,000 to $40,000. Some nutcase has one listed for $87,5000.

Very nice! On your road trips you can see if you can get the fuel mileage into the double digits!

Looks like you're up and semi sober. Leaving in a bit to come over. I can't find help loading the grill, so I'll bring the new sled!

And now back to Powerpig. Wow I did not see that one coming! Great find, can't wait to see some higher resolution pictures.

So after a little reading......

This is an early 90s model?
Silver Spur is a little bit longer then the Silver Spirit...how does the rear leg room compare to your 300SDL.
Everything in working order?

Old style Bentleys and Rollers are the way to go....I can't stand this VW nonsense that they are building these days.

You know, I saw one of those things on a TV show once, many many years ago, when I was working p/t in an electronics store to raise $$$ for my law school caper.

It had been entered in a luxury car DEMOLITION DERBY .. ALL the lesser cars, the Cadillacs, Lincolns, Chrysler Imperials, Mercury Marquis station wagons and so on, every single one, turned their collective wrath on that baroque, imperious old beast.

It was amazing, the thing got swarmed. Within 5 minutes it was done.

I am sure the crew at Crewe that built it were aghast - at those horrible disgusting colonial Philistines, what they did.

But what great entertainment for the unwashed Merkin TV watching masses it was.

Maybe *YOU * could have fun, too, like that.

Just sayin' .....

I ectually *DO* know a wee bit about the "PMC" 's ****as these behemoths are known in their owner clubs.

One of my closest and oldest friends picked one of them up at the Ferrarri/Lambo/Bentley dealer. In fact I gave him a ride over to San Francisco, that day, when he took delivery at the dealership.

I love decadent excess !!!!

It really was a nice one. Go for BAROQUE !!!!!

My friend eagerly awaited the handover of his keys, almost time to go:

Finally, he left the dealer, following me in the Outback, out of San Francisco.

Past SF City Hall, on Van Ness avenue,

**** PROPER Motor Car
