We're thinking of buying a system to install in my father in law's house. He is bedridden and requires 24/7 nursing care. Now we'd like to be able to monitor through the internet and smartphones the care he's getting from his nurses whenever we want to assure he's getting the proper care and treatment.

I've looked at several systems and thought I'd ask you all if you have any experience with these systems. I've seen several that look pretty good, but they aren't wireless. In Perú, all the houses are made of concrete throughout and it would be difficult to install a wired system. So we'd like a system that uses wireless cameras. They should also have night vision.

Any recommendations and advice is greatly appreciated!!

I just ordered a 4 cam dvr with 500gb drive from CompUSA (Tigerdirect) for $229. Its on back order though. will post when I get it, it is also a hard wired system but thats ok for me. I plan to video cable it to our living room and bedroom tvs

I have had the wireless camaras in the past and the distance spec they give is for line of sight. your performance will vary. I could not get the wireless to work from inside the garage to my computer room 60ft away

We bought a system from BJs with a 500GB hard drive that we're going to test out before installing it in the house in Perú. But you've found a similar system for a lot less. Would you mind posting a link?
