Is Detroit really the war zone we read about on the net? Sounds like an interesting place with all the urban decay. Can you tell us crazy stories?

$2,950 for 5 vests? $600 each "might" stop a 9mm round, and most stabbings but not more. Hope the animal control force wears the same size vest, I can see some shortages...

I wish they didnt need them. Sorry to hear it's that bad.

Pulling pit bull's chained to the water meter out of crack houses isn't very safe!

They chain them to the meters so they can't get shut off.

I would be more concerned about a pit-bull's teeth than a 9mm!!

Screw that job I wouldn't do it, I'd shoot the dogs. But the bum owners would complain.

About what I was thinking, I would have to be a pretty well paid dog catcher to tolerate being shot at. Do these folks understand that there is no fence around the city, they can actually move away?

Yes, lot's of people have realized that - check the population numbers for Detroit from 1950 to present. The city is down by at least 50% from its peak.

Just google RG41, it's the latest low cost and can accommodate a 25mm PLUS .30 cal coaxial machine guns.

Bad part about the machines guns is you can only fire 900 rounds at a time, then you have to wait for the barrels to cool.

In the meantime, I am slowly making my personal MRAP- Mine-resistant Ambush Protective Vehicle by bringing out one piece at a time in my lunch box, like Johnny Cash

Yep, there's a new body armor out again. The rip cord on the IOTV was nice, but it's hot, clumsy, and restricts movements. It's difficult for a soldier to shoulder a weapon properly when wearing it... "nobody" saw that coming before the contract was signed, and "unfortunately" its getting replaced again...

Fleece the G'ment, they have "plenty" to spend... Thank you DOD contracting office for approving them...
