Brett Favre, when he was with the Packers, was the reason the Vikings never made the playoffs more than they did.

Brett Favre, as a Viking, is the reason the Vikings aren't in the playoffs.

HAH!

I used to be impressed with the guy but he's managed to drag his name through the mud.

I guess it's true that the hardest thing for an athlete to do is retire at the top of his profession. I'm not saying it's the wrong thing to do. If oyu like playing, enjoy the competition and someone will throw beaucoup bucks at you to "get them over the hump" to the promised land, hey I say go for it.
Favre to the Jets?

Well, at least Brett has thrown his last game-ending interception, of which there were too many in the clutch:

The strange factoid is that many Minnesota Vikings fans would rather lose than have Brett Favre playing for them at any time in the last two seasons.

The number I heard bandied about on sports talk radio this morning was that he made something like $16 or $17 Million for this past season's work. I don't know about most people, but that's enough of an incentive to work a few months toward the end of your career, if you could find someone to pay you those kind of dollars - even if you don't need the money....

As for the jilted Green Bay Packers fans? Get over it, already!

Brett is THE MAN!

Too many hits to the head. Should retire to his farm with restrictions as to operating heavy machinery. And no cell phones with camera where he can send pictures of his dick. What a maroon.

In the words of the (lately) late BC.

It's MORON, not maroon.

Maroon is a color! (isn't it?)

Yes. I just checked wiki and it has a whole page on maroon!

I am not a fan of Favre. I think he was an excellent QB, but not in the realm of the very best. I think Majikoski was as good, just not as durable. I do think that last year, he proved he still could play. I think a longer season, and not as fast of a recovery from old age did him in this season. Still, I think there were other problems that resulted in the poor showing of the Vikings.
I think one of the comparables would be Joe Montana going to the Chiefs. I think that actaully showed how good a QB Montana was. The Chiefs were not making the playoffs. With Monatana they did. I don't think it was him alone. They did have Marcus Allen, and a good defense.
I think Peyton Manning is up there with the best. Still, he has his days. I think it come from early in his career, when the Colts didn't have very good defense. Either the offense has to win it, or loose. So, he had to throw it, and make plays. He did have the record for being sacked the most, and interceptions in his rookie year. I will say the look on Tom Brady's face after the Jets game was priceless.
