Yes she is a very long way from being well. I think the speech centres are not working. Or where not the last report I saw. Hopefully she will recover but a bullet right through the brain is a very serious injury.

I too hope she can make a reasonable recovery. There is no longer basically any chance she will die from this now. Unfortunatly a total return to what she was is not very likely. I wish her well.

Why the ******* could not have been content with just shouting her down will never be known. He had it in for society in general though to cause as much carnage as he did.

If I was so unbalanced I wanted to shoot someone specific. I would make sure thats the only person I shot. This guy reads a lot like the individuals that enter schools and blast away.

He does look somwhat deranged by his facial expression in that photo I saw. We would have a lot more of simular episodes if people were able to pull the trigger. It is not easy to kill another human being unless some form of heat of the moment is involved.

Many attempts probable just stop as a result of the individual at the last moment discovering they really cannot do it. One of the worse things about an event like this is it may draw other unbalanced people out of the woodwork.

The dealer that sold him the gun and ammunition may have some questions to answer as he should. In my opinion and only my opinion as the suspect could not have come across as normal during the purchase..

The death penalty is deserved in these cases. Just to deter copycats. Some of these delusional people see prison as a holiday camp. I do not imagine there is much of a way to fantisize the death penalty even if you are dellusional.

We have too many games showing violent killing of other people.

When I was a kid you shot at fake ducks with a cork gun....never people!

I can remember when the behavioral experts used to say that there was no link between violent behavior & watching violent films.
Once the link was shown they went to ground.
None of this stuff is surprising.
Problem is young kids dont comprehend that they cant press the new game button in real life. they are playing for keeps!!

It wasnt that many years ago that a combat officer commented that a young mass murderer had followed exactly the technique used & taught by the military when entering a building. Where did the kid learn it? Computer games!!
Rather than sitting in front of a screen all day killing people, why dont they go outside & kick a football?

Back before I had video games my friends and I would play cops and robbers or other games of the sorts.. play army, etc.

We kind of figured out optimal breaching procedure after lots of trial and error. We used nerf guns and water balloons for grenades. Tons of fun.

But today I play video games, such as Call of Duty : Black Ops which is a pretty decent FPS game. I will say that it isn't gorey and I know its just a game. I've known such things since I was a kid. It's just a game.

To you Don it is just a game. That is normal and usual. To some people they just cannot really differentiate. Actually sometimes becoming totally fixated.

If a violent game user has no developed concience for example. A not that rare condition in itself. The games become a conditioning process.

The suspects parents where quite quiet after the event. It probably did not really suprise them at all that he did this. They may have already wished for a long time that he had not even been born.

I have seen situations within families that are beyond real comprehension as part of my functions. Certainly the average member of the public would be shocked in my opinion.

If the parents are within the normal range I can understand that. In these cases there are probably behaviour issues that were not of this severity and were swept under the rug. It would not suprise me if the parents are relieved that now some one else will have to deal with him. They may feel the guilt even when their feelings are justified. Thats where they will probably get some counselling hopefully.

Parents are usually aware of serious issues with their offspring. They also are almost helpless to do much about it. When a mature person seeks out medical help for serious mental conditions he or she wants to get better.

Children tend to be quite happy as they are and do not want change. This makes a lot of treatment non productive. The therapist is fighting a serious uphill battle.

This guy was old enough even if on medication to discard it as well. The parents for example could not enforce compliance. Generally many of them actually feel much better off the prescribed medications. Other people get the resulting fallout.

Modern society has been producing a higher percentage of difficult children all the time now. Most teachers can verify this. There are many reasons.

The most common ones are genetics as irresponsible people with disorders tend to reproduce more. That alone grows the percentage. The male with certain disorders seems very exciting to the opposite sex. It is far too late before they sober up mentally finding what they are involved with.

There of course are some females that are also this way. I had to include that as it is an equal opportunity kind of thing. Generally speaking there are far more defective males out there than females up to this point anyways.

We as hopefully responsible families can only deal with so many of our offspring for example so we control the number.

The real issue with video games and real life violence is that games have conditioned people to take a few shots and move on, instead of emptying all the rounds they have into the intended target. Aside from the training, I don't feel they give you any more propensity towards violence.

I watched a twelve year old with perhaps a potentially serious mental condition play grand theft auto last week. It took quite an effort to get hm to explore all the territory in the game. All he seem fixated on was shooting everyone down. I think he preffered the effect of the hand held rocket launcher the best.

A truly disturbed young child indeed.
