Anybody own Ford stock?

I'm still a huge believer in the company, in fact I'll probably buy some more if it goes any lower, but today was rough.

I had a small amount of it (100 shares) and made very little on it and just got rid of it. Personally I would not be touching automobile stock right now. Thats just me. We had a couple Fords and my brother had 2 Mustang GT's my dad got him. Have not owned one since 1990's thoue. I like Ford thoue and im sure it will come back a bit eventually.. My father was at Ford for a number of years. We get the coupons all the time in the mail. $5,000 off any new Ford + what ever the current deals are at the time. The stock got hit really hard falling about 2.50.......The futures are up 0.09 to make you feel better

Why would you own or buy this stock?

I wanted to buy it when it was under $2 a share but I won't touch it (or GM) at current pricing. Maybe if/when it falls to $10.

My biggest regret is that I did not buy any when it fell below $1. I seriously thought the company was going to file for the Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

I could have made 1800% off of an ~$7-8K investment!
There will probably never be another opportunity like that again for me.

Ford is only going up...their current offerings are great and they've shed a lot of excess weight from buying all those overseas manufacturers (like volvo) as well as trimming their product line. They're the only US company I'd buy from still.

I wish I bought it in 2008 the money has already been made.

Still probably a good long term buy, Ford is doing quite well.

1. Alan Mullaly/CEO is a genius
2. Aggresively pursuing increasing market share/sales
3. Long needed UAW concessions
4. Not greatly affected by currency fluctuations
5. Balance sheet looks better every quarter
6. Currently investing big $$$ in R&D
7. Increased spending to add capacity= JOBS!
8. International exposure. I know, Europe disappointed this quarter, but they want to win the war, not the battle
9. For profit
10. Didn't need bail-out $$$

Other than rising commodity prices, I can't think of a reason not to own it.
