Just finished taxes and e-filed. Woo hoo! Just found out that due to the tax laws that changed in December, federal returns won't be processed till after Feb. 14th, maybe. Oh well, who cares? At least it's done. Nice to get that niggling detail over with. I always hope it'll come out close to a wash, and don't mind paying 50 or a hundred bucks. I don't like loaning money to the gov for no interest, but surprisingly I'm getting a pretty big refund on both state and federal. I don't know how it happened and I ain't agonna look no gift horse in the mouth too close.

I heard that due to an obscure holiday (Emancipation Day in DC), US federal tax returns aren't overdue till after April 18th.

Did mine almost 2 weeks ago:cool:

Was going to wait till after 02/14 to process mine.

Pay early? They won't get my check, and my 1st quarter of 2011 check until 4/15.

I was too until I read that they're accepting e-files and putting them in a processing queue now. First in, first out. Might as well file, 'specially if you anticipate a refund. If I had to pay I'd be waiting till the last dog was hung too.

Loaning the government money interest free, wouldn't have me doing a 'Happy Dance.' ;)
