Have you ever given a bible, koran, BOM or similar text as a gift?

Or, have you ever received one as a gift?

A nice Quran is actually worth a good deal of $. But if it is written in Arabic, and you cant read Arabic, its sort of just a useless text.

I hope you have kept these gifts, obviously those who gave them to you held you in high esteem, and wish only the best for you.

Come on, its the word of Allah as written by Mohomed. Now, since you have a Japanese wife. I have heard that it is a great honor to be chosen to give a book on sex to a couple being married. True or not?

I have a couple in Arabic, and an English translation titled "The Glorious Koran". I also have a book or two explaining the concepts of the theology, from an Islamic perspective. They were given to me by my guides or asspciates within the Egyptian or Kuwati military security apparatus.

By 'useless text', I mean that he cant read it if he cannot read/speak Arabic. I am not sure if the man realises the signifacance of the Text, and that is Allah's word , interpreted by Muhammed.

My wife is Malaysian. To my knowledge Japan is one of the few country's on earth where Islam is not widely practised.

I am aware of the significance. I am not able to read it; my ability to master a foreign language is very low. I wish it weren't.

I did recieve a King James bible back in '82. The only noteworthy thing being it belonged to Tobie Matthew and had handwritten annotations and gloss by Miles Smith. Still have it.

I gave the book of Mormon to a friend. He needed something to prop up his washer. BAD idea. The blue cover dye got wet and left a blue mess all over the floor!

Yes, to my daughters. The Bible is the basis of western civilization. To be ignorant of the Bible is to embrace ignorance.
