Benz guys are the coolest

Here's an odd story for you guys,

A week or two ago I meet a gentlemen in the laundry room here in my apartment complex. He was holding what looked like a blower motor.

So I asked and sure enough it was, the best part was he told me it was from a w210 (year and model escape me).

I mentioned to him that I drive a w123 and pointed to my 300D in the parking lot. We started talking about numerous forums online that help keep our cars going. He's a member over at Benzworld and has an account here.

Well, MrBSmith had to leave suddenly and when I was walking out to my car today I saw this bike that was chained to my rear passenger door handle. After a few choice words for some tree hugging idiot, I found that my car was unlocked and an envelope was on the driver's seat.

Well, I remember telling him how my driver's side door lock is kinda screwy and any key can unlock the door.

Sadly, he had to leave quickly. But he left me this awesome bicycle

I left him a thank you in the w210 section of benzworld.
I'm thrilled I have a bike again

hahaha thats awesome.

Most Benz owners around here are female (that I've noticed) and are not the forum type.

I did meet one guy with a 190D at university though. He was in the electronics maintenance in the EE dept.

And yes. Agree with title.

Most w123 drivers out in socal are young women so when I wave at them they just look at me like a fool

However this Benz dude was cool. People who care for their Benzs, heck any old car are just cool and helpful.

Two of my close Benz friends met in a very funny way. They were both filling up at the local gas station. One drove a '93 190E 2.6 while the other a W203 C240. As they were fueling up they were looking at each others' car, but trying hard to not look suspicious to the other driver.

Then one day the W201 dude was selling AMG Monoblock II's and the W203 dude happened to call him. When they met up to check on the wheels, they had a deja vu moment.

Here in SoCal I often see older MB's cruising around, but none of them seemed to "look" for other MB's (and wave) - more like too focused on driving or something. Sometimes I drive right next to theirs and look, if they wave or smile then I acknowledge.

There are virtually no MBs in my neighborhood. Maybe 6 to 10 total. Out of 1,200+ homes.

Same for my area. My neighbor has a E34 BMW though. There are probably more Mercedes in my driveway than in a 10-15 square mile area from me...

That wouldn't count as a good story of how we meet

Maybe pretend to bump into each other ...

Seriously: Orange County area - how about you?

Burbank right off of forest lawn and the 134.

I have friends in Yorba Linda. Methinks a trek is in order.

I noticed the overall quality of Benz owners shot up immediately after I got my first Benz. You other guys are not too shabby either . . . .
