Saudi Citizen in Texas Charged in Suspected Bombing Plot

A college student from Saudi Arabia studying chemical engineering in Texas has been arrested by the FBI for allegedly planning a terrorist attack on U.S. targets using explosive chemicals.

Khalid Aldawsari, who is legally in the U.S. on a student visa, allegedly targeted the Dallas home of former President George W. Bush.

"It is war ... until the infidels leave defeated," Aldawsari wrote in online postings.

This is a good example of the 'See Something, Say something' way of doing things.

It appears he was caught because he tried to order a chemical that is supposed to be hard to get and the seller could tell the guy was not a steady user of the product. The Seller then tipped of the FBI and they went to work.

When I first heard of this I was wondering if he was going after the house in Dallas, which it turns out he was, or the house in Crawford. The Crawford house is a technical marvel of being eco-friendly but would be impossible to get to, so it appears he was after Bush himself.

But then catching the bad guys is what the security forces do. I understand Obama gets several threats a day; I would bet Bush gets several a month that we just don't hear about.

Bush should and does have wonderful security. His neighbors whined about it when he first moved into the house but have since come to realize there are worst things in life than a full time security presence right outside of your door. I would almost think a constant Secret Service presence there would make the value of the houses go up.

One problem the Bush's have about living where they do is in receiving the newspaper. The SS guys have to go over everything first and when the Bush's first moved in the Secret Service guys would sometimes forget to take the paper up to the house after they had finished reading it. I understand the Dallas Morning News now delivers two copies to keep this from being repeated.
