Have you ever been threatened with your life?

Voice mail I recieved from my ex roomate goes beyond horrible explicit ,"the ra#e of my mother ,a brick across her face ,i now were your parents live ,"killing my dog and sending parts back in the mail".I dont care if I go away for 100 years " A True mental case .This was spurred from an early incident were he sucker punch a friend of mine and I asked him to leave and not come back ,he did and the next night and was aked to leave again. As he left he said that he would seeing me real soon. The viale VM followed 10 minutes later.I called local officers to check up on my parents and another unit came by to hear the VM and search a local home for his vehicle with no luck.Cops have the report and will be getting a tape.He also has threated other people in similiar disgusting taunts of rage.I Helped this guy for months after he broke his leg with little or no rent from him .The police have said it will probably be a terristic threat charge and hope the assualt charge will also be added but doubtful.Any advise on the next step?

Call the police, give them a copy of the tape and press charges.

Also it might be a good idea to take steps to protect yourself in the event he really does decide to come after you.

He has made friends with a family who lives on some land locally ,he maybe hiding out their .I really want to make it known to this family what he is capable of if he dosnt get his way.No one deserves a threat and when life or death is mentioned in the threat it should be an automatic 1 yr lockup ,espicially in the graffic nature and intent of the call.

Yes.

X2, plus some

Copies of the tape, One to the police (press charges), one to his parents, one to your parents, one in a safe deposit box, one in your safe.

Take a self defense class, at a karate American or whatever. Call around for rates, but a basic class will help significantly, and will be an empowering/confidence raising experience. Should cost $300 or less for 2 people, and will be a few evenings worth of work.

Dont go looking for trouble, but, take care of it if/when it happens.

Sounds like you filed the police report already. Get a restraining order in place and enforce it if he comes back. Don't be kind. Spend the $300 on a shotgun and some #8 or #9 loads so you don't hurt the neighbors.

Restraining order is a good idea. Keep everything well documented in case you ever end up in court. Make a copy of the tape as well, before giving it to the police.

Stay on the police's case about it. I mean daily. It'll be too easy for them to wait until something more serious happens to take action. The restraining order is a must. If you don't normally shoot, I'd not suggest a gun. One of those personal tasers might be fun.

Don'tmean to scare you but a restraining order is only as good as the amount of fear it puts in the person being restrained.

Two things that you can keep handy that will do serious harm and never get you for carrying a concealed weapon:

. Buy a cheap BALL PEIN hammer with no sharp edges at a flea market. Buy a couple keep one in the car.

Go to the farm supply or grower's store and ask for a can of the strongest wasp or hornet spray. Trilox is the best. Buy a roll of duct tape.

With these in the car you can incapacitate a guy in nothing flat. The spray in the eyes or mouth will incapacitate this guy in three seconds. seriously. And you can always say, I didn't have a weapon, just a can of bug spray and I figured if I sprayed it at him he would leave.

That should be your story and stick to it. After the second spray, a little more exytended, while he is retching uncontrollably on the ground, use the hammer as you see fit. Put the duct tape over his eyes.

While he is working on that, tie his legs.
