Hyundai's latest luxury vehicle and Tablet Computer owners manual.

Nice little gimmick. Enough for someone to fork over $50,000 for a Hyundai?

I think it could be pretty useful, as long as they don't just use it to broadcast Hyundai commercials or something. There's always the issue of it running out of batteries or breaking though, no problems with books last time i checked! The Equus is a very nice car, sat in it at the auto show and was very impressed with how Hyundai has stepped up

Wonder how their prices will be on the used car market. I haven't even looked into the Genesis's resale value but I bet they're good value for a luxury car as long as all the gadgetry holds up.

It's a shame they need to work on the car names.

Genesis was good, but Equus?

Agree with you they have stepped up their game. Same with their marketing.

I also saw an Equus at the Cinti auto dealers show - nice numbers, didnt get to sit or drive one.

I agree that Hyundai is making a mistake by putting their name on this thing.
They should have done what Nissan and Toyota did in the early 90s - create a new brand name. Lexus and Infiniti have done very welll since.

I agree. They don't seem to realize how shallow most consumers are.

They obviously are thinking long term... wanting to change perceptions.

The next generation may hold Hyundai to the same esteem as Mercedes.

I'd still buy European.

I have a feeling Hyundai is about to find out like Honda and VW did that the badge on the hood counts for a lot when you get into that price bracket.

NFW is a high end S class buyer going to put up with a Hyundia dealership, or want that thing sitting outside at the club.

Toyota avoided this and was smart, they created Lexus.

Either way I'd still buy an S class, the worlds dictators cannot be wrong! Go big or go home!

I too am impressed with how far Hyundai has come from its dismal beginnings and where it has put itself in the auromobile industry today. I'm really liking the new models coming out. I thought the Genesis was their latest luxury super car until a friend mentioned that they have the Equus. Never heard of it and thought he was referring to the Genesis. Then he showed me the Equus, and I was impressed. I'm looking forward to the release of the Sonata hybrid. Wow, they are becomeing a serious and threatening contender!

And THAT is the reason for the service that Equus owners will get. They do not need ever to go to the Hyundai dealership. The dealer will pick up the car, drop off a Equus loaner, complete all repairs or service and then return the car. Same for prospective owners, the salesman will bring the car out for a test drive.
No need ever for the Equus owner to associate with the people who buy Accents, or Sonnatas.

You just made the point for a "tablet owners manual", if you noticed the book comparison toward the end.

Now, considering the high number of true 'wannabes', incl. cleaning ladies, janitorial assistants and spoiled brats, empowered by willing creditors, rolling around in their shiny, new entry level MB, thinking to be seriously next to godliness, I sometimes wonder ....

The real fun comes along the way, when you recognize the overwhelming charisma of the vehicle compared to the midgetry the steering wheel, if you know what I mean?

You can't buy charisma or status, you've got to have it.

Most good MB dealers will do that, if your a good customer. I know someone who still had their 420SEL serviced this way until a few years ago.
