virus help
well got an email from a friend.well turns out he got it and it evidently got into his address book and sent everybody this email.well i ended up doing a system recovery but it is still acting weird.when i go to restart it will get to the point of showing the welcome screen then reboot, over and over and over, until i go into safe mode then i can do whatever.well during recovery i lost my anti-virus.well i can access the internet without it but when i download it it won't let me access the internet.comes up with an error message and i can't get rid of it,unless i manually shut the computer off.and with my anti virus downloaded it shows it as disabled, and i can not re enable it.any ideas where to start?

Backups are important, this is why I make image bu of my desktop daily / weekly / monthly. I may lose some data but hopefully not much. I like Acronis, BUT NOT THE CURRENT VERSION, I upgraded and had nothing but problems. Reverted back and all is well. You can try it ( 2011 version) they have a free trial. There are others out there too.

Get some help from www.bleepingcomputer.com. It is a bit slow but someone will be assigned to your problem and that person will completely check your computer and give you directions on what to download to fix the problem. Go to the section about virus infections.
I had a problem with my computer running slow and Task Manager showed CPU usage at 100% all the time even though nothing was running. Turns out that the Ativa thumbdrive for wireless internet was the problem; there was something in it that conflicted with my computer even though it did give me wireless internet. Bleepingcomputer figured it out and had me reinstall some but not all of the Ativa program. So I get wireless internet fine and the 100% CPU usage went away. I am sold on them. |

You need to download an anti-virus that is set up to run in SAFE MODE. Most are not.

funny you should mention bleepingcomputer.a buddies kid is a comp whiz and i talked to him today and he said it was probably something in sys configuration and to run combofix off that site.then to run malwarebytes before i tried to download an anti-virus as maybe it was infected.well after that i did get malwarebytes to open and it found more stuff.so hopefully it is cured.i will say this thing is smokin fast compared to before.

There's a pretty simple solution to all that virus stuff.
Just saying....

Lots of iOS virus's appearing, and a lot of Android one's appearing too. Most are pretty inocous for now, but show what can happen. One thats cool on Android was developed by a group of Professors in Switserland (?). It is capable of capturing credit card numbers when you speak or enter them, store them, then ship it off later. It is so intelligent it only transmits the part of the converstion when you speak the number. It was able to install itself without any User warnings, it went in with several different anti V programs, and the transmission of the data did not trigger any alerts !!! Be happy it was the good guys who developed it. PS I run a bunch of PCs here, none run active Vscans. Rarely have I seen more than a couple of tracking cookie type errors when I scan them, weekly.
