Yet another Fast and Furious movie

http://blog.movies.yahoo.com/blog/845-five-fast-reasons-to-see-fast-five

OK, I don't get it, and maybe I'm missing out, so before I go and invest 8 hours of my life catching up on this movie franchise I thought I'd ask you, my car loving friends if I was really missing out on something here.

When I was in high school my friends and I were gear heads, we watched movies like American Graffiti, Vanishing Point, Gone in 60 Seconds (the original and the new one) and Two Lane Blacktop... so logically when The Fast and the Furious came out we went and watched it. It was an ok flick, I'd say not as good as American Graffiti, but better then Two Lane Blacktop.

When the second movie came out I remember thinking, there goes Hollywood, they'll make a sequel to anything. I think I saw it in the theater with friends... but that was my last encounter with this movie series.

Now they're gonna have five of these damn movies... so... Are they any good? or is this like the Planet of the Apes... more movies for the sake of making movies?

Like Jurrasic Park 3 it's just an attempt to make money using an established name.

Its not terrible, but not awesome.

I would watch em again. They are pretty corney movies, and I get a kick out of them.

I think they're terrible. The cars are reasonably cool I guess, the Supra Rx7 and R33 skyline were all pretty cool. I remember the weekend it came out every kid in their mom's Hyundai was out racing, thus ruining the scene.

I remember when the 3rd movie came out my friends sister had her car overheat on the side of the highway just next to the on ramp where the theater was at... I was sitting with my friend in his 69 ranchero waiting for a tow truck for his sisters car. When the movie go out all the kids came to the stop light and then went onto the free way. well at the end of the onramp was a CHP... so my friend and I sitting in the Ranchero would smile and spin our fingers and yell "light'm up" It was funny to see the kids in their Accords squeal tire and haul ass past the CHP

I am going to see the new one. Might even splurge and see it in the theater.

I'm just totally burned out on a lot of newer movies, Avatar for example sucked.

It seeks like Hollywood is just pushing out everything it can, hoping something sticks.
