Really sweet car. However, the Japanese just don't know how to do wood trim. That dash looks like it belongs on a boat.

How would it do at a Barrett-Jackson auction?

They would be fools to take it there. Gooding or RM would bring the buyers it needs.

650k though? I think they're starting high to see what they can get.

That was my thought...I just suggested BJ because that's where reality seems to be averaged out...

Ya...some cars go for more than expected and some seem like they rolled off the block and drove 'em out the door like they were stolen, but overall, BJ SEEMS to show the average cost of collector vehicles' values fairly well...I do believe...

For muscle cars. I've been going 7 years in a row and I don't think I'll be returning. By not allowing a reserve they scared away nearly all of the high end European classic car market. When I first started going you could see some really nice German and Italian stuff. Not anymore. Gooding and RM have been able to cover that segment and thrive.

If someone were to take their very rare vintage supercar to a Barrett-Jackson nowadays they would be taking an incredible and unnecessary risk. Why gamble on a 500k+ supercar without a reserve with a company that only knows how to market and sell muscle cars? Gooding and RM are smaller, know how to research and market your specific car, and because of the reserve work VERY hard to get it sold.

You go to a Gooding or RM and its a completely different atmosphere. Picture state fair vs country club.

I remember seeing the Toyota in a Bond film, You Only Live Twice and thought it had to be designed in Italy, but it wasn't

I was thinking that too. Why slum with an overpriced Toyota when you can have the real thing for less?

Well, it's less likely to leave you stranded due to a light drizzle moistening the Lucas electrics or leave a nice puddle of Castrol on the garage floor . . .

Yes but isn't that part of the whole "supercar experience"?
