First family takes another vacation...

...and the left used to slam Bush for spending time on his ranch in TX.

http://www.dailypress.com/news/dp-williamsburg-mayor-president-obama-coming-to-visit-this-weekend-20110406,0,6881733.story

Quote:
The leader of the free world may be coming to Williamsburg for some rest and relaxation if Congress is able to come to agreement on the budget. President Obama and the First Family are planning to visit the area this weekend in what the White House described Wednesday as a "long-planned family trip to Colonial Williamsburg."

But the trip might get grounded if a government shutdown can't be averted by Republicans and Democrats in Congress.

On Thursday morning, the Federal Aviation Administration established a no-fly zone over Williamsburg that will be in place from Friday through Monday. Jessica Wharton, spokeswoman for the Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport, said the no-fly zone will not affect the arrival and departure times at the airport for this weekend.

George set records for being away. I bet if you took a comparison you would find O spends much less time away from the job than he did.

I would be willing to say that you're off on your numbers...Bush was NEVER away from his job or duties while in TX, just his DC office.

I do not think an allegation of white racism would be the least bit inappropriate at this juncture.

A while back there were some studies done on the amount of time spent "holidaying" on the public purse by country leaders. There was a good relationship shown that when a leader felt they would be out at the next election, they made the most of the freebie holidays.
We will have to just wait & see if it is the case this time!!!

Let me see if I understand this, taking the family on a 2.5 hour drive on a weekend to see a national landmark qualifies as a "vacation" in those terms?

Sounds like a nice way to spend a saturday personally, maybe with an overnight in the colonial town. Ive been there, was worth seeing, especially with kids. Give the guy a break, plus its dependent on all these screeching blame laying cretins in congress agreeing on a budget, so he's not running from that responsibility

geez, its not like hes still not on duty. When he is home hes at the office. the way I see it, he works 24/7. so even if he was a workaholic in private sector he might work 10-12 hrs per day and a saturday. so thats maybe 72Hrs per week. he works/on call 168hrs/week so we owe him 96 hrs/week. now most upper management which he surely is equivalent or better get 8 weeks vacation. add it all up and he is owed a boat load of time off. Ino matter what he's getting screwed on time off.

I do think the public wants to know that elected officials are hard at work, primarily on jobs and the economy, according to most metrics.

It would also be good if citizens took a look at their other elected officials "attendance" records. President Obama, as a US Senator, was absent quite a few times for votes, however I believe that there are more than a few other Senators and House members that have an less than exemplary attendance record.

I had the great displeasure of hearing that clown being "interviewed" on CNN yesterday while I was waiting for my most wonderfully delicious Indian take out... good gawd, that man is annoying. Not to mention utterly full of himself.

Heaven help us if we're foolish enough to let him anywhere close to a political office.

Remember, if we get the Donald as POTUS, we do get Melania as the First Lady.
