1. The slr crash was interesting in that only the passenger compartment was not shredded. I would not be surprised if the passengers walked away.
2. One pic labeled mercedes stuck in mud looked like a nissan 350Z to me.
3. The really valuable exotics like the GTO worth millions can be fixed for much much less than their value. If you can make a repica GTO on a 250 GT chassis for $500,000 you can repair a wrecked GTO for the same or less. So they are total loss proof. I admit it is a lot of Jack to repair one if you wreck it racing but the GTO was built to race and it is a crime IMHO to not race one. If I could afford one I would race it.

IF.

I went looking for a report of that warehouse incident, where they crashed a couple of S-classes, but found this instead. Interesting.

According to Wreckedexotics both driver and passenger in the SLR were dead.

The amount of energy needed to rip apart carbon fiber like that would have to be far more than the human body could withstand. Although, the SLR did a fine job in protecting the evidence so that they could be identified.

They would have had a much better chance of survival by sticking to camels.

There was a joke going around here in Australia after that crash. The guy was said to be an unhappy customer. ~ She said front entry only so he tried a front entry, just forgot to get out of his car first.
