honda super quiet generators

Why buy a 2 yr old one, if you poke around the net you can get a new eu2000i shipped to your door for $850.00. beats the heck out of a $800-$1000 2 yr old one -or older that might have had the piss rode out of it!

Cosco had good prices on them; it is a while so I'm not sure if they still do.

actually, the better deal is buying a non-running non-abused barely-used one off craigslist.

often, the carb just needs to be rebuilt. sometimes not even that. you often just drain the fuel from the bowl and off she goes.

i've purchased them as cheap as $50 for the little camping ones to $150 for the bigger ones.

Where can you get them for $850 delivered? I paid $1200 for mine and picked it up from the dealer. I think it is worth it though and might buy another.

I got mine somewhere on the net for less than $850 delivered. I'll have to see if I can figure out where it was. I think I did a search on reviews on a generator and then found a forum discussing it with a link to an online dealer.

I'd just buy a new one if I wanted one, no need to muck around with old stuff.

I have a larger Mitsubishi generator, its not that loud, but it runs quite well. Paid $1800 for it.

http://www.mitsubishi-generators.com/generators/mge5800z.php

Unlike the cheapo's its designed to be fixed and rack up a lot of hours. I already have 300 hours on it, it also has an idle down stand by feature which is rather nice. The $300 specials at Costco can't hold a candle to it.

i picked up a couple winco 1okw standby generators out of an old nursing home that closed down.built in the mid 70's 2 cyl wisconsin engines with transfer panel.i doubt they have over 30-50 load hours on em.and propane so i'm gonna mount one in the far corner of my garage and tap a gas line off my current line to my fireplace and i'll be ready for the next blackout.plus the engine heat will help warm up the garage.gave 500 for em and you would swear they are brand new.

Again this thread is not about loud obnoxious ones, diesel or non running other types.

Hehe, the Army bought a bunch of the super quiet honda ones... Too bad they will NOT stand up to 140 degree heat. Very well sound proofed, but that translates to very well insulated, and they have no external cooling system.

Very quiet, but, keep out of 100 degree plus temps if you want it to stay out of thermal overload protection.

Give me a shipping container sized monster generator any day... At least they stay running in the heat.
