I love this Mustang!

The Boss 302 is back! I would so buy one if I had the money, what a car!

Ford's doing a good job of showing the Germans how to go around the track.:D Also I love how Ford does this, they have little BS baffles you can unbolt right off the side exhaust for a by pass, totally street legal...:D

I think I'd poney up the extra $7k for the track version though.

HAHA a GT500 can't even keep up with a regular M3? Thats pathetic.

Craig 04-25-2011 11:55 AM

A friend of mine had a real one, it was sort of a beast in the corners but it was fun.

TheDon 04-25-2011 11:57 AM

Now thats a mustang.. I'll take the Laguna Seca version please

The Swede 04-25-2011 12:08 PM

If it's not 800HP, then forget it.

jplinville 04-25-2011 01:25 PM

Not a real fan of the color scheme...I'd rather have one with a Blue base and black accents

So when Scott punched the Mustang’s brake pedal and it went straight to the floor, it got his attention. He quickly ran the six-speed manual back through the gears, slowing the car enough to make it through the gap in the wall at the end of the track.
Total brake failure during regular performance testing is a very rare occurrence. I’ve had plenty of cars get squishy pedals and smelly pads after hot laps around a road course. But in more than 25 years of testing, I’ve never known of such a complete—and potentially catastrophic—loss of braking.

Built Ford tough.

Insert example of defective Mercedes workmanship here

My neighbor just bought a 1970 Boss 302 two weeks ago. Got it from Arkansas from the 2nd owner since '74. Beautiful car. I dare not to even ask how much he spent!

How do you figure? The GT500 costs less than the M3, doesn't it? So what's pathetic about trailing it by a couple of seconds on a track? Road tests show it edges the BMW from 0-60.

I won't be buying either, so I have no pony in this race (pardon the pun), but I fail to see what's "pathetic."

iwrock 04-26-2011 02:19 PM

The Mustang and M3 are different beasts....

VERY much so. Both are nifty cars with sizable fan bases. Don't see what's "pathetic" about either since they aren't exactly incapable in either case.

SwampYankee 04-26-2011 03:41 PM

I could have fun with that! The first thing I'd do is black out the grill surround, wheels, mirrors, roof and spoiler, though. I'll take the "Go" but I want less "Show."

I agree.

With that said, the Mustang was born as a go-fast pony car, and has/have/had always been designed and built with this in mind.... It still has a solid rear axle!

The M3 was born into the world of Motorsport. They have always been designed/built to be the best handling car with the technology available.

Yes, this is a track modified Mustang, but people.... Even this Mustang was born with the intention of going fast. Yes, the suspension, steering, and gearing have been tweaked for the track, but lets face the facts. That chassis was built with pony car speed in mind.

The Swede 04-26-2011 04:18 PM

M3 costs 50% more? Of course they're different cars.

People that are into BMWs and can afford an M3 generally don't care about Mustangs.
