Happened a year ago down the street from me, a couple of idiot kids split their civic in half on a telephone pole. The pole cut the car in half like a knife through butter, and since they were not wearing seat belts there bodies continued on another 100ft.

They were not even drunk, just coming back from church on a sunny Sunday morning, doing about 100 in a 25.

I'm lucky I survived some of my speed racer days. In '67 I had a Suzuki 150, 2 cylinder, 2 stroke. It was a hot bike compared to the Honda 90s. I knew an early 20s guy with a Suzuki X6, surprisingly one of the hot bikes of the day. 250cc twin, 6 spd. tranny. Probably seems like a toy now but it did 0-60 in under 6 seconds.

We would go out east of Roswell, 2 lane highway and go as fast as we could, lying down on the seat, face by the speedo, feet stretched out straight in back. I could do 60 to 70, on his bike I'd get to 70 - 80. They were supposedly capable of 100. And semi trucks zooming by. I was in the running for a Darwin award and didn't even know it.

Ah, ah did a search for it, the X6, going down memory lane and here I found Leno raving about it. It was a hot bike:

I just passed an accident on the highway a few minutes ago...I doubt if anyone emerged alive, nothing official on the news yet though. Very sad/gruesome.
