Interview with Elon Musk.

Fascinating individual and company, I love his SpaceX idea. I'm tired of the doom and gloom, time to think some big ideas and take on some big projects, this is what made America great! When his new 4 door comes out I'm going to go look at it, if its all that its cracked up to be I'd buy an electric car. If their were stations where you could change out the battery's you could drive it anywhere just like a gas car, you could lease the battery like they do with solar panels.

Interesting. I think it will take a private company to accomplish these things; today's nation governments are not interested in these types of endeavors. It's not just the US, it's everyone.

True and I don't really believe its the governments place for such things. Its just refreshing to see someone who has a clear vision of the future, along with the skill and expertise to make it happen. I imagine its what Henry Ford or Thomas Edison was like back in the day.
OTOH I think the government needs to lay a clear plan out for the country to get off oil and I think the people of this country would respond to such a call. Its like the moonshot of this generation, we want to have a calling and would respond well to it. I just wish we had a statesman with the balls to do it.

Yup, the whole trick is finding a business model that works without government support.
