Finally, an actual use for pick-up trucks.

Your dislike for trucks is curious.

I own a truck and use it about 70% of the time...as does my wife.

Why the hate?

They're fine, as long as I don't have to drive them, ride in them, or have them in my driveway. Other than that, they are just easy to make fun of.

Just don't like driving crappy vehicles. If I needed to haul manure, I would probably own a pickup.

A great link, thank you!

As far as craig's well known distaste for pickups goes, I suspect he doesn't give a crap where his food comes from either, as long as it's cheap and he doesn't have to smell the manure that if he's real lucky it was fertilized with.

My pickup hauls manure at least once a week. I guess that makes it, "crappy".

I can't stand driving trucks either. But they do serve a purpose I guess. I have to rent a 26' box almost every month for hauling inventory for my business. Just three hours of driving that thing makes going back to my 300E, like driving it for the very first time.

Not a truck person apparently.

I worked on farms when I was a young teen, I am very glad I no longer have to do it.

I've had the displeasure of driving more than a few trucks, I'm also glad I don't have to do that anymore.

I do understand the utility of working trucks, I don't understand the folks who drive them by choice. My neighborhood is infested with $40k trucks and SUVs that never carry anything more than a bag of groceries.

Why do you ride your R80? Seriously...why own it or ride it? It only has 2 wheels, and is by no means safe.

Why do you own an E500?? Why not a smaller, more fuel efficient vehicle?

Regarding the bike; if I have to explain...

Regarding the W211; ask my wife, I don't particularly like driving the thing.

I don't drive a truck for the same reasons I don't drive around in a front-end loader, I don't need a piece of construction equipment to go to the store for a gallon of milk. If I ever feel the need to buy a truck, I'll go talk to my doctor about some viagra instead.

So, you concede to the fact that it's personal preference and comfort...right?

It's the same reason I own and drive my trucks. With my history of back problems, climbing in and sliding out of a full sized truck is MUCH more comfortable and easier than a low slung car, on a daily basis. Standing on concrete for 10 plus hours a day then getting in a low car is not good for one's back...if they already have issues with it.

Why be so judgemental about others personal preferences? Learn to ignore it and move on.

I would think your back problems would be much better floating along in a S Class than driving anything with truck like suspension/ride. Getting into/out of the car is a small fraction of time compared with the time your butt is in the seat.
