how to stop the local newspaper delivery

they just keep piling these things at the end of my driveway, and for some reason they deliver to the mailbox instead of the driveway so I get the neighbors acroos the streets paper too. I called and asked them not to deliver and that lasted about a week. I tried to just leave them but the mindless drones just throw new ones on top of the untouched old ones. It looks like crap to leave them for long but its also a pain to keep having to pick them up let alone the outragous waste of paper. I think I should be able to prosocute them for littering. I even thought to put them in a bag and dump them on their doorstep except they dont really have a local office, its a coop that prints them miles and miles away. any thought to stop them?

Things are very hard in the newspaper world these days. When I caught the Washington Post double billing my credit card, I cancelled my subscription. They just keep delivering t anyhow. They need those subscriber numbers to keep their ad revenues up.

Call the office of the newspaper president. The admin. assistant will take the call and will make it happen.

What Dee said. As a former subscription fulfillment agent , they are so desperate to keep their circulation numbers up that it will take time and a few attempts to get the delivery stopped. I had account holders tell me that they had canceled their subscription 2 or 3 times already yet their names still showed up on the delivery lists. Obviously I would stop delivering to them once they told me but there was still a paper for them.

If they're anything like my former paper, they've probably cut out all performance-based bonuses and fuel allowances which has really increased turnover (and competence).

I currently work at the paper in Cincinnati. (I guess 31 years including today counts as "currently"). You call the president/publisher's office and things happen. BTW, are they putting the paper in the mailbox?

I had this problem years ago. After several unsuccessful requests for a halt, I told the carrier if another paper landed on my drive I would swear out a complaint for littering. That ended it.

I still get a couple of free papers every week. I've never bothered to figure out who is sending them and ask them to stop. It is a pain to find trash in the driveway.

no, they are throwing it at the post of mine and the guy across the street, so I get 2/week since I am on the mailbox side of the street
