Another computer question

Can't download IE9. It requires a windows update but when i try to update i keep getting an error message. What can i do to fix this problem?

Download Chrome, Firefox, or stick with IE8....9 really isn't that exciting.

What error message does it give?

Have updates worked in the past? You might be running a blacklisted serial'd OS. Otherwise, Chrome is where it is AT.

Both chrome and firefox seem to be decent browsers (at least they work fine on my macs), and they might just be less prone to downloading viruses than IE.

I've had a similar problem with IE9 and Win 7.

What happened with me is if it fails during the first attempt then nothing I did would get it to load correctly subsequently. I had to reinstall OS.

However, as everyone else has said why use it.

Firefox/Palemoon use a lot of resources and have a slow start-up time. They're becoming bloated.

Chrome is clearer the most efficient and fastest but there are a number of things that can't be changed. You to like some of it the way it is.

Firefox has had consistent memory leak issues for at least 5 years, on any of my computers. It opens/runs fast for the first few hours of browsing, then slowly takes up 500mb....700mb....of your RAM.

Chrome has a great plug-in selection now (FlashBlock, AdBlock Plus, etc) so there is no reason to use FireFox IMO.

Except Chrome is less configurable.

His description of FF is dead on target.

Its time to get rid of Adobe Flashplayer!

The problem with FF, Palemoon, and IE is FLASHPLAYER
The memory leak referred to is caused by Adobe's flashplayer engaged with pop up ads.
Recently an announcement was made that Flashplayer will be eliminated from the browsers, something the companies that make money off ads is protesting. While that plays out in courts one can use NOSCRIPT to select which sites can use Flashplayer.

Blame Adobe on the issue seen when your browser gets bloated, slows down and locks up.
Most IT professionals will use Linux over FF or IE for security reasons although its usually the users who navigate into dubious websites while they don't have a robust Antivirus program running that get into the biggest trouble.

I'll second this. IE is a horrible browser & rather unsafe by comparison.
