What's a 1996 Honda Civic DX Hatchback worth?

Looks like I'll be inheriting a 1996 Honda Civic DX Hatchback. It has 56,000k miles, 5-speed manual transmission, Red, 1 owner garage kept vehicle driven by a 80+ year old women. Literally just driven to church, grocery and liquor store. Needs a good detailing in and out, no rust, body and interior in excellent shape. Should clean up almost minty like.

I know these are extremely popular "tuner" cars amongst the younger crowd, and apparently somewhat rare, especially with the low low mileage. Not for me at all.

So, any suggestions on asking price? I'm thinking $6500. (I'm dreaming of a 300CE taking it's place).

Sounds like a good car. Personally I think $6500 is a little high. With that low a mileage I would think you won't go wrong putting it on ebay.

KBB for that in my zip code and typically equipped is $4110 private party. I'm thinking there are Honda geeks who'd pay considerably more for a near mint example. Try asking six and see what happens.

Always start high. you can come down, If you start low, you have let the genie out & wont get it back.
