would you park your Benz in an airport lot for a week?

I don't know how appealing these old cars are to thieves but the hassle of having a car stolen is bothersome to say the least.

I might just call a cab and leave the cars at home. What do you think?

I have done just that (park at the airport for a week) without incident and also the "park & fly" spots near the airport. Beyond that time period, cost effectiveness comes into play, since getting a door to door shuttle, car service or cab fares (to and from) may be cheaper than the accumulated daily rate.

If you're really worried, how hard is it to disconnect the ignition coil, or pull the fuel pump fuse or both? No thief is going to waste his time trying to diagnose a car that won't start. I would be more worried about vandalism.

I'm always the provider of rides to and from the airport. People really appreciate getting a prompt ride home without having to worry about a cab or getting their car out of hock and driving home.

Done it a number of times, just make sure you have a good battery so it starts when you get back. Nothing like having to get a jump, at 10pm at night, with all your luggage, in the rain.

I have parked at dozens of airports hundreds of times. Never had a problem with my car. Maybe because the thieves were too busy stealing my airplane.

Pretty doggone hard on a 300D

I've parked at the airport for up to two weeks several times. Never a problem.
