Fires happen even naturally -- preventing them just leads to more fuel being around in the future to have an even bigger fire. Problem is that the population of AZ has shot up about 4x in the past 50 years, with new development being rather ... non-compact.

I'd like to hear his "evidence." I'm skeptical, but I suppose it is entirely possible that the fires were not an act of arson, but accidental -- a small campfire out of control, for instance. I wouldn't dismiss the possibility entirely.
