Euro 560 SEL

Love that velour!
Is that a ride height adjustment knob ala W109 beside the headlight switch? It has a glove box and a console box. I wonder if the console box was added later. Sixto 87 300D |

Wonder what if the motor has the orig t-chain rails? |
If it does, they're probably due.
The old Mercedes velour. IIRC on the w126's, this was a no-cost alternative to leather in America, at least in the coupes. I recall Road and Track doing a road test on the '86 SEC and noting this point. I wonder how many American-spec w126 cars were originally equipped with this upholstery? I'll bet no more than a handful. |
My '91 560SEL had something like 125k miles before the trans went (unrepaired trans cooling line issue after my wife it a deer) and I sold it to my Mom's mechanic.
He inspected the plastic rails and said they looked good. Suppose because the car had good maintenance over the years. |
Wow, fully loaded even for a 560SEL. I'm surprised that they ordered everything BUT leather.
|
Wow, there is some stuff under that hood that I certainly do not recognize.

I'm guessing the relay center ahead of the coolant reservoir is for the Webasto heater which is just inboard.
The thing ahead of the ABS pump looks very similar to a ride height adjustment valve in a W109. Take that, Andre Citroen :) Oops, maybe it's his patent. Sixto 87 300D |

me likey.
what's with this option 822 - output increase? is the suspension a later generation of the 6.9? |
As a relative MB newb, "260-Elimination of model designation on rear lid" is an interesting one to me. I doubt many U.S. Spec cars had that option. I'd prefer the velour to the Tex or leather but would imagine not many look like this after 24+ years.
A stupid question but where are the 5 spheres located? |
That's a nice car, how much would you guys want to pay for it?
|
No idea. I'd need to do a PPI and drive it first.
|
I doubt It could be made California legal. :(
