Is it just me?
 

Is it just me or is anyone else subject to a merciless attack by mosquitoes? I swear, I must be listed in the "100 places you must bite before you die" tour book of mosquitoes. This morning I woke up, looked in the mirror at my back and thought I was looking at a map of a battlefield.

Yeah, they're mosquito bites. 20 minutes after I woke up they were gone.

My wife, the un-understanding wench, thinks it's funny. No lie (and it ain't often that I'll make THAT statement!:D) we can be sitting on the front yard swing snuggling, the little bastids will bite me UNDER where she has her arm around me!

My wife, not a nip and trust me, she's much tastier than I am! Ive bathed in DEET, eaten enough garlic to kill a Frenchman, gone without showering at night, showered three times a day, switched soaps and shampoos, even thought about getting a blood transfusion from the dogs.

You KNOW it's bad when you complain about mosquitoes in the desert!

This is where we differ.

At least you dont have Ross River Virus or Murray Valley encephalitis to worry about from a bite.
Get a mozzie net for the bed & some good repellant for when you are outside.
They are at their worst at sunset & sunrise down here.
A ceiling fan gets rid of them, they dont like moving air.

We got West Nile over here :stunned::stunned:

Dont sleep naked. will make it tougher for them to nibble ya.

Okay, before anyone corrects me, "the little *****ES", 'cause I know the females are the blood suckers of the species. The males are harmless inoffensive vegetarians. Kind of like Californians!:rolleyes:


I'm guessing your bites are of the variety which last for an hour or so?

I suppose there is some relief to my rapid recovery.

Now if THAT image don't ruin your guys's sleep, I don't know WHAT will!:D

Hah! You guys must have some sissy 'skeeters down under! At my house they use the ceiling fan as a "bungee" jump.

I think I got nailed by an Ozzie mosquito last night. I heard her a'coming. She went "whiiiine, OYE"!:D

When I lived in Jax. Fla. we use have some monster Teradactyl Skeeters. :D:D:D

Yeah, I know the ones you mean. Back in my "hippie hitch hike around the country days" I stayed in Lakeland, Fla. for a bit. The monsters they had there you had to catch them biting you and squeeze the blood back into you or you'd die.:eek:

Tell me about it. :D The sheeters in Fla. are so big, they donate blood at the blood bank. :D:eek:

Yeah, but it weren't for humanitarian purposes. They needed to get rid of the excess weight so's they could fly!

You must have sissy ceiling fans !! If they dont blow the sheets of the bed they are not working proper.

The tiny little black mozzies are the ones that do the damage. They dont take much blood but they leave a 1" diameter lump that stays for a couple of days.
Time to dust off the old DDT fogger in the shed !!

All right, I'll give you that one about the fans.:D

I don't know about DDT, but that stuff from Oz called "Fast Knock Down" sure works good. Skeeters fall out of the air, and they're dead when they hit the floor.
