Speculation that a "M Class Coupe" Will Be Built in Alabama

Markus Schaefer, president of Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, said an official announcement about a new production model could come in days, though he provided no other details during a presentation to auto industry executives. His comments follow published reports saying the automaker will make a smaller M-Class to compete with the BMW X6 crossover vehicle.

It would be a smaller version of the Shooting Brake concept car:

I'm surprised BMW even makes the X6 anymore, a coupe SUV is a dead out dated idea from 2007.

That concept car OTOH is pretty striking!

Well its a station wagon, even though that seems to be a dirty word in automotive circles these days.

IMHO the best new car I saw at the NY auto show this year was the CTSV wagon.

My mom's Equinox is a "crossover" or what ever that means. But to me it's just a lifted station wagon with 17" wheels.
