If these cars were sitting on a lot when they were damaged it may not show on CarFax, etc.

My first clk 320 my 1998 was a flood car and it served me well for many years.

Or if the owner/dealer does not report it to insurance, and takes care of it him/herself.

I just assumed that my clk was a flood car because on both of the doors you could see a water line on the map pockets. I could be wrong though.
