I'm diggin' the red Gelandewagen; my best friend's dad off roads all the time in this area with Jonfund, primarily Jeeps, but I've seen hummers and toyotas before. Besides, it'd be great to see if the G-wagen truly is as superior as the specs show!

Yes a very long time with some sold out from under me or many others just way overpriced. This one, after considerable negotiations, was just right.

I think the 350 will actually be very grateful that I won't be driving her in the winter snow and salt any longer. Did I mention that I just hit 301,000 miles in her

haha no way i'd get it sorted that quickly. Besides it's far from the best long distance highway cruiser out there. (That's what the 350SDL is for )

Yeah......the back end will need attention in the future. I'll wait for spring for that project.

Biggest issue right now is getting it to start. Glow plug issue seems to be the most likely source of the non-start but it could also be a fuel delivery issue.

When are you going to get it? I wanna see, I wanna see!

As soon as I get a temp plate on it and make AAA tow it down using my within 100 mile free tow option. Otherwise it would have cost like $350 top bring it down tonight (Screw that i'll wait a day!)

Ok, 1982 in red. Original 300GD Europa import (One of 12 I believe) Engine is still original.

The good-I got it for a fair price
Underside is clean
Back seat is clean

The Bad-
Odometer is stuck but it has around 100,000 miles on it.
No hard top (Yet )
Rust is the usual G places but nothing that will cause problems for another year or so. (Except the rear tailgate which i'm afraid to put too much pressure on)
Engine does not start (Glow plugs issue is likely culprit)
Soft top needs repairing

The 2nd owner seemed to think that he could run it on a shoe string budget so it's a bit of a mess. He also didn't seem to be too bright about some basics; for example he said-

"I thought glow plugs never go bad?"



The engine is leaking at the back and the tranny looks like it also has a leak.

Also it was never waxed (WTF )
